Lamps

Lamps are important in any home. For lighting, or just for decor. They can really add to a room. It is hard though because sometimes some people choose lamps that.... aren't the prettiest. Lamps can be used for many reasons, but mostly they are used to add lighting. For example in bedrooms you would use a bedside lamp to make it easier when at night you would only need a little bit of light, and you don't want to have to get up to turn off any lights. Below are some options that I like and specialized for certain styled rooms. Below is a lamp for a more elegant simple room.

Here is a lamp for a modernized room.

And here is an example of an ugly lamp.
I'm sorry but that is just plain weird. But overall you really do need to be careful when picking lamps as they are an important accessory to any room.

Restauraunt

Joeys has always had a very modern clean look that appeals to most people. With restauraunts you want it to look clean and  professional to have people at ease when eating your food. Unfortunatly the chairs are not that comfortable, as they are there more for looks then comfort.

Restauraunts need to have colours that encourage people to eat and talk. Most of the time they also have dimmed lighting to set the mood.

Free blog

As you may or may not have been able to tell I am greatly inspired by the ocean. I love everything about it. Therefore I thought it would be perfect to dedicate this blog to sea shells.
Prevent tablecloths from billowing. Gather sun-bleached oyster or clam shells, sides still attached.
Prevent tablecloths from billowing. Gather shells, sides still attached. Slip string, knotted at both ends, between a shell, and lay across the table. For a centerpiece, gather big shells and scallops. This look is so casual and beachy yet still very beautiful.
Show off the seaside beauties in a large glass, or scatter them around a candle or across a table
Gracefully curvaceous and sculptural, these shells show a note of sophistication to any room. Show off the shell beauties in a large glass, or scatter them around a candle or across a table for a natural looking display. This look is more classy and can really add details.
Embellish a simple wood frame with local shells such as limpets, available on both coasts
Remember summer the most be embelishing frames with shells. Arrange your design, then secure the shells with craft glue.

As you can see shells can be used in such a simple manner yet it really adds a classic casual look.

VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are the solvents in most paints that evaporate and contribute to the depletion of the ozone. VOCs are also a part of the stinky odor in paint that is offensive and continues to off-gas which contributes to poor indoor air quality. YOLO Colorhouse paint is formulated without the use of these solvents, as a result it is a 0 VOC and low odor, premium interior paint.

There is a huge variety of colours, and the paint works just as good as any normal paint.

It is a great product to use and I would highly recomend it to anyone. It helps save the environment and keep you safe from those dangerous odours.

Organizers

There are so many great storage ideas out there. My favorite is using cute box's. Its a simple and easy solution to clean up a cluttered space. Another plus is it is not very expensive at all.

MÄLLA Box with lid black, white Width: 11 " Depth: 16 ½ " Height: 6 " Width: 28 cm Depth: 42 cm Height: 15 cm
This is a box from ikea that is only around 12 dollars. It is very cute so it won't look unnatractive in a space. One down side for box's is that they can't be very big with out looking out of place. I also love box's because it could be used in any space. You can use them in offices for cluttered papers. Or even in closets for clothes that you aren't wearing that season to add room.

KAJSA Clothes box with lid multicolor Width: 16 ½ " Depth: 22 " Height: 11 ¾ " Width: 42 cm Depth: 56 cm Height: 30 cm
LINGO Clothes box with lid blue Width: 17 " Depth: 21 ¾ " Height: 7 " Package quantity: 2 pack Width: 43 cm Depth: 55 cm Height: 18 cm Package quantity: 2 pack

Least Favorite Colour

The colour orange is a colour I never really liked. I don't know why, because it can be a very pretty colour. I think it is the fact that too many people have used it wrong, and made it not very appealing. Orange is a vibrant, playful colour that when used right can make a room  pop.

This is a picture of a room that I do not think used the colour right.

This room really used the colour right! The shades are not too harsh, they are just right.

This is orange being used as an accent, not as the main colour of the room.

Favorite Colour

Pale Blue. Wow, I am just in love with that colour. I do not know what it is, but any type of blue really intices me. It is not too bright and over powering so it works well with many colours. And it is so versitile. You can use it for so many thing furniture, paint, accents. It really does work for anything, I love how you can use it as the main colour of a room or even as a little accent and it still is sybtle but noticable.
Above are 4 pictures, all using light blue.

The looks look so romantic and of course so natural with the gorgeous shade of pale blue which has been used throughout all these pictures to give color to the rooms and outdoor areas.

Blog About a Blog

So I am so sorry about having not blogged lately. I plan to catch up so here I go.

One of my favorite blogs is " A Beach Cottage" it is run by Sarah Sydney.

She lives in Australia and her blog is about how her and her husband have re-modeled a home they bought in creative ways. The blog started in 2008 when they first bought there home and is still running strong.

Sarah loves finding vintage furniture and accessories, painting them white and creating a look of "old beach house ambiance with a fresh new feel". In her inspiring blog, Sarah documents her house renovation and her other life adventures living by the beaches of Sydney. This is why I love her blog, because it is inspiring and fresh.

I do not think I would change anything about the blog. The layout is pretty, and the blog is simple and inspiring. It is completley my style, that is why I fell in love with it. Let me know if this is your style too. :)
